You don’t have to do this alone.
You’re probably tired of feeling this way and ready to change, but you don’t know where to start. Beginning your therapy journey can be uncomfortable, new, and vulnerable, and that’s okay.
It doesn’t have to be as scary as it seems. I will guide you through the steps to help you break through to the other side. The other side is where you can live a life of fulfillment, joy, peace, and serenity.
Let me show you what this will look like.
Our first session will focus on your story – exploring what brings you to this new journey and identifying where you want to improve. We will look at your symptoms and history and create goals and a vision to accomplish during our time together.
I incorporate psychoeducation into the therapy process as it helps you learn more about yourself and develop an awareness and understanding of how these issues affect you and why. We will discuss how these issues affect your functioning in different aspects of your life, whether personally, professionally, socially, or in relationships.
We will dive deep beneath the surface and address areas you may have never thought about or talked about before and perspectives you never considered. We will get to the root, origin, and source of these traumas. But rest assured, I won’t throw you into the deep end without assistance to keep you afloat. We are in this together.
In this space, you can be YOU!
It will take stepping out of your comfort zone and being vulnerable to fully resolve the unresolved. I want to create a safe and comfortable environment for you to allow yourself to go to these places to help you work through it all.
You will learn to self-regulate and self-soothe – to create inner peace and a safe place for your thoughts and emotions, rather than living in constant fear or threat response in your daily life. We will focus on the mind-body connection to integrate you into your best possible self.
Our work comes from current research and evidence-based, proven techniques that have helped others. No two clients are precisely the same, but they often have similar experiences and symptoms. Using these tools has continued to help clients day after day.
You’ve come to the right place if this sounds like what you want.
About Me
Hi, I’m Allison!
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Florida (MH23088) and hold credentials as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional Level 1 and 2 (CCTP I/II), a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP), and an Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Trained Professional.
I have attended a variety of therapeutic and counseling trainings in treating post-traumatic stress disorders and complex traumas, anxiety and depression, attachment disorders, somatic work, inner child healing, shadow work, resiliency, teletherapy, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
I graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University in 2016 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and in 2019 with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have been practicing and seeing clients ever since. I have over ten years of experience working in the mental health field.
While working on my education, I began gaining experience in the field in 2014, working with toddlers, children, adolescents, and adults in crisis units, youth shelters, abuse and trauma treatment centers, and the school system before beginning my private practice in 2021.
Helping those in need is my life’s mission.
I aspire to the quote, “Be the person you needed when you were younger.” Some people feel unsupported and unheard throughout their lives. I want to provide that validation, encouragement, and strength to help you overcome these barriers in your life.
I want to provide the nurture and dedication that everyone deserves. I grew up wanting to help others, knowing what it felt like not to have anyone. I don’t want anyone to feel that way.
Outside of the therapy world…
I enjoy spending time with my husband and family on the water, at the beach, or fishing on a boat; catching the sun; reading books; attending concerts and listening to music; and playing and cuddling with our cats, Casper, Bane, and Pumpkin.
Life is a journey, and it would be an honor to join you on your journey to become a better YOU.
